Fuel, Focus and Freedom: Wellness for High Achieving Women
This week, I’ve been leaning into a theme we often push to the side: taking care of ourselves.
On the latest episode of Conscious Corner Podcast with Courtney, I had the joy of speaking with Robyn Engelson - burnout recovery coach and autoimmune wellness mentor. Known as the Burnout Breaker Expert, Robyn helps high-achieving women reclaim their energy, clarity, and purpose.
One of the powerful reminders she shared was: "Food is fuel and movement is medicine."
Robyn explained that without combining the two, we’ll never truly sustain high performance. Proper nutrition fuels sharper focus, steadier confidence, and energy to be fully present - whether in a boardroom, at home with family, or leading a business. And movement? That’s our release. It’s how we de-stress, reconnect with ourselves, and sustain mind, body, and soul.
Her words resonated deeply with me because they mirror the heart of my own work teaching mindfulness tools to high-performing professionals. Just as food and movement sustain the body, mindfulness sustains the mind. It allows us to pause when stress spikes, shift out of autopilot, and meet challenges with greater resilience and balance.
Like Robyn, I believe practical tools matter. Her clients use strategies like a 7-day meal tracker and accountability checklist to set themselves up for daily wins. In my programs, I teach simple practices like the PRO practice (Pause, Relax, Open), a reset you can use in the middle of a hectic workday. Different approaches, but the same outcome: clarity, steadiness, and greater presence.
Many busy professionals tell me they don’t have time to carve out moments for meditation or a workout in the midst of everything that needs to get done. But the reality is, taking time for ourselves - even small moments of rest - has enormous value. It makes us sharper, calmer, and more grounded in every area of life. It also recharges us and enhances the resilience we bring to the work we do and all that we juggle day to day, moment to moment.
